These Coldwater Shrimp BLTs are Deliciously Canadian!

With a zesty blend of mayo, dill, and lemon juice, the shrimp salad offers a refreshing twist, complemented by the richness of avocado, the juiciness of tomato, and the crunch of bacon. All nestled between buttery, toasted potato buns, every bite is a symphony of flavors and textures that will leave you craving more.

Ingredients

  • 1¼ pound coldwater shrimp
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • Freshly ground black pepper and salt, to taste
  • 4 potato buns, split
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 beefsteak tomato, sliced
  • 4 strips of cooked bacon, julienne
  • 4 leaves of butter lettuce

Preparation

  1. Whisk together the mayonnaise, dill, lemon juice, and paprika.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Fold in coldwater shrimp.
  4. Heat broiler and toast the buns on a baking sheet until golden brown, for approximately 3 minutes.
  5. Spread butter on each toasted bun.
  6. Line the buns with a lettuce leaf and fill with coldwater shrimp salad.
  7. Garnish with the sliced tomato and avocado and sprinkle bacon on top.
